April 5th – Maundy Thursday Worship - We will have a family-style meal beginning at 6:30pm followed by worship.

Join the Movement at  Walk MS: Columbus on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium on 4850 West Powell Rd., Powell, OH 43065

Join the National MS Society and walk to create a world free of Multiple Sclerosis at the #1 Zoo in America, the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. All Walk participants will be able to explore the zoo exhibits upon completion.  With your help, we can ensure that people with MS have what they need to keep moving forward, and bring an end to MS!

Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. The Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The route is approximately 1.5-miles long and travels through the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. The route is fully accessible.

Pancake Breakfast - On Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th, 2011 at 9:15am, Alleluia! will host our annual FREE Pancake Breakfast.  Come dressed in your favorite teams apparel and enjoy fellowship and good food (pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and tea).  Worship to follow at 10:33am (nursery provided).

ELCA’s Malaria Campaign – We will be collecting for this campaign over the next few months. If you would like to make a donation, please make your checks payable to Alleluia and put in the envelopes provided and place in the offering plate. We will write out one check at the beginning of November and another at the beginning of January.

Bible StudyOn Wednesdays from 7-8:15pm. We will pick up Matthew’s gospel at Chapter 21.

Rockin’ For A CauseJoin us at Alleluia on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7:00pm for a fun night out while raising money/food for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank! Come out for our benefit concert, raising support for the food pantry.

The Service of Confirmation/Affirmation of Baptism – On Sunday, October 30th we will help our confirmand celebrate with a potluck breakfast beginning at 9:15am. Look for the sign up.

Adult Sunday school – Can you name the Fruits of the Spirit? They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self control. Over the next 2 months, Pastor Steve will lead us in a study of the Fruits of the Spirit. Fruits are characteristics that Jesus had when he was here; and our goal is to be more like Him. So, how are these attributes working in your life? Come and explore how God wants to work in your life.

Bible Study – On Wednesday, September 7th, Pastor Steve will lead us in a study of the book of Philippians. We meet from 7:00pm – 8:15pm.

Sunday school kickoff – On Sunday, September 11th we will have Sunday school for all ages beginning at 9:15am.

Adult Sunday School – As we all are trying to adjust to the beginning of the school year, shorter days, and cooler weather, we all probably are aware that this can be a tense time of year.  In September, the adult Sunday school class will be doing a three week study of A Christian Perspective on Managing Stress.  We will be identifying ways that our thoughts sometimes work against us and against God when we get stressed, as well as working on trying different ways of managing stress that are more aligned with our faith. 
 
Prayers & Squares – September’s meeting will be on Tuesday, September 13th at 9:30am.

Be The Church
 
On Sunday, September 4th, 2011, Alleluia will not hold a worship service; instead, we will be out serving the community for Be The Church Sunday. We will meet at Pastime Park, which is located at 370 N. Chillicothe Street, Plain City, 43064. Worship begins at 8:30am. See you next Sunday!!!

BTC T-SHIRTS will be available for pick-up on Friday at the office from 9:30am to 1:00pm, Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00am or Sunday morning in the park by the inflatables.

Back to School Clothing Drive
For Be The Church this year, we will be collecting items of clothing for kids from Pre-School through 12th grade. On Labor Day weekend families will be scheduled to come in and work with a coordinator to get the needed clothes for their children.

Items to collect: New/Gently Used kids shirts, sweaters, sweat shirts, shorts, jeans, kakis and dress pants, girls dresses/skirts, jackets and coats, shoes, new (packaged) under garments and socks. All donated gently used items must be washed before donated.

Coffee for Commuters
On Tuesday mornings a few of us get to the church around 6:20am…We blow up balloons, get our morning exercise by putting out signs and have some great fellowship as we wave and pray for all those that pass by. If you’d like to be a part of this outreach ministry, please talk to anyone on the team: Pastor Steve and Gail Kimm, Sarah Dacre, Cathy Heffelfinger, Lisa Heere, Chris Reynard or Sandy.

Simpsons Summer Sunday School
The Simpsons…the scourge of family values on TV or one of the most theologically relevant programs in primetime? Come find out and explore “The Gospel According to The Simpson”. We will watch a select episode of The Simpsons and then delve into scripture and discuss what we have watched. It should be a fun way to roll into summer. D’oh!

April 21st – Maundy Thursday Worship – We will worship with our sister church at The Church at North Pointe (5550 Cleveland Ave, Columbus).  Gathering time will be 7:00pm (they are planning travel time for us).

April 22nd – Good Friday Worship  – We will worship with the churches in Plain City for Good Friday.  Service will be held at Plain City Presbyterian (231 N. Main Street) at 7:00pm.

April 24th – Easter Sunday – We will have a Potluck Breakfast followed by an Easter egg hunt with resurrection eggs.  Invite your friends!  Festivities begin at 9:00am.
